The Illinois Geographical Society will convene its 2017 annual conference in Champaign-Urbana from Thursday, April 27- through Saturday, April 29.

The theme of this year’s conference is “People and the Prairie: Changing Geographic Patterns of East Central Illinois.” The Friday fieldtrip will feature stops in the Campaign-Urbana hinterland during the morning portion of the tour followed by a focus on Champaign’s recent economic development in the afternoon. The Friday awards banquet will be held at Eastland Suites.

Papers and posters on any geographical topic will be the focus of the Saturday morning paper sessions which will be held on the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus.
